About Us

Between the hills and the river, almost in the epicenter of our country, in the heart of the Northern Cape, at the confluence of the Vaal and the Orange Rivers, you will find a trail readily waiting for you to hike.

The hike starts at the “dumpsite of life” from where you take your exodus from Egypt on route to the Promised Land where you enter the “Path of Love.” Then we go down to the river where we experience “Rest and Cleansing.”

Onwards we go on the “Road of Perseverance” where our faith is tested, and we can pick the “fruit” that we will enjoy later at the “Banquet Table.” Now we hike to the “House of Nehemiah” where our walls are restored and our DNA gets cleansed. Then up on the hill past the “ruins” of life to the “cross.”

From the “cross,” we go to “Proclamation Hill” where we declare His Light and Life.

We don’t only offer the hiking trail; we also offer a complete Retreat Weekend, with accommodation in the picturesque Philadelphia Home. You can overnight in the Overcomer, Pillar, Set-Apart, or Anointed units.

The weekend kicks off with a delicious welcoming meal. On Saturday morning, we do the hike, which will take approximately 5 hours to complete. On Saturday evening, you can relax on the banks of the Vaal River around the “braai” with the fire in the fire-pit. The self-catering units are well equipped for food preparation.

We complete your weekend retreat on Sunday with the “Trading Floor,” where we trade our sorrows and troubles for the blessings that our Heavenly Father has in store for us.

This experience can also be presented during outreach activities to spread the word and engage more participants. We look forward to sharing this unique journey with you.

The Philadelphia Home can also be used for overnight accommodation, or a break away week or weekend from the hustle and bustle of city life. Come and enjoy the beautiful scenery of nature close to the Vaal River in a peaceful rustic “Farm” character where you can listen to the peaceful cooing of the doves, the morning crow of the rooster, and the wonderful call of the eagles from the skies above.

Bring your bike and take a ride through the veld of the game enclosure. You can also go fishing or canoeing on the Vaal River.

We can comfortably accommodate groups of 12 people.
